Man dies in head-on crash with semi, Trent blocked near Starr Rd

STATELINE — A man was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash with a semi on Trent Ave near the Washington/Idaho border.

Trent Ave (State Route 290) remains blocked near Starr Rd.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was driving a Subaru and trying to pass an SUV crossing double yellow lines. Troopers said he made no moves to evade the truck and died on impact.

The semi-driver slammed on his brakes and has been experiencing some chest pain.

Drivers should expect long delays and avoid the area if possible.
