SPOKANE, Wash. — A fallen tree brought down power lines outside of homes near Cannon Hill Park on Sunday afternoon.

Neighbors said the tree fell near Lincoln St. and 18th Ave around 4 p.m. Fire crews said the tree was rotted and strong winds took it down.

City of Spokane crews first arrived on scene Sunday night and worked until 8:30 p.m.  They returned Monday morning and have continued work to remove the tree. They said they will begin that process once Avista crews have restored the power lines.

Traffic has not been affected in the area, but an alleyway was blocked.

Power was out for many homes in the area, but has been restored.
