Excited Crowd Awaits Central Valley Basketball Team At Airport

SPOKANE, Wash. — After winning the 2018 Geico National Invitational Tournament in New York, the Central Valley girl’s basketball team arrived at the Spokane Airport to many thrilled fans, friends and family members just before midnight.
A LITTLE OVER 15 HOURS AFTER WINNING THE 2018 GEICO HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT SATURDAY MORNING…THE CENTRAL VALLEY GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM RECEIVED A CHAMPIONSHIP-CALIBER WELCOME HOME AT THE SPOKANE AIRPORT LATE SATURDAY NIGHT…
ANXIOUS FAMILY MEMBERS, FANS AND MEDIA AWAITED THE FREDDIE REHKOW LED BEARS WHO CONFIRMED OVER THE WEEKEND THEY DON’T JUST COMPETE WITH THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS IN THE NATION…THEY MAY BE THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL TEAM IN THE NATION. WALKING INTO THE BAGGAGE CLAIM AREA WITH SURPRISED GRINS AND A TROPHY…THEY CAN NOW LOOK BACK ON ALL THEY’VE DONE.
Lacie Hull: “I turned the corner and was just taken away, I was blown away it was amazing I did not expect this many people to show up.”
Hailey Christopher: It’s definitely crazy, I knew that we had it in us like we just had to stick together, be a team, and i knew that we would come out with a win we just had to be one and it’s crazy to come back and have such support that we did have it’s crazy and i’m so thankful that we have this support for something we did.
Lexie Hull: “This is definitely one of the best memories that we could’ve had to finish our careers.”
Freddie Rehkow: “This is what they deserve, they’ve worked so hard, and for me as a coach, couldn’t ask for better ending to this season. the girls and i talked about it, this is a dream come true i mean this is the highest you can win at the high school level, so super proud of them.”
