EWU Board of Trustees starts new presidential search

CHENEY, Wash. — The Eastern Washington University Board of Trustees has began their search for a new university president.
Former president Mary Cullinan stepped down in August, following a no confidence vote by the Senate Faculty just two months prior. EWU’s Provost, Dr. David May, was appointed interim president and will remain in the position until a candidate is selected.

The board has formed a search committee and hired a consultant to help with a national search for a permanent replacement.
“One of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees is to select the university’s president,” said BOT Chair Vicki Wilson. “We encourage the campus community to fully engage in this process.”
The board plans to accept nominations through May 7, and added that the process to select a new president could take up to a year.
