Everything you need to know about Hoopfest 2022
SPOKANE, Wash. — Hoopfest is back!
The largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world makes its return to the Inland Northwest after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Hoopers from all over head to Hooptown USA for a weekend of fun.
Here is everything you need to know before the start of Hoopfest.
When does Hoopfest start?
Hoopfest 2022 is on June 25 and 26.

Where is Hoopfest held?
Located in downtown Spokane in Riverfront Park, basketball players come together to play on the outdoor courts in the park.
When will brackets be released?
Teams should have found out who they are playing on Wednesday, June 22. Here’s how you can find your Hoopfest bracket.
Who plays in Hoopfest?
Anyone of any age can compete in Hoopfest! Whether you’re a second grader or a senior, anyone can participate in one of the biggest events in the Inland Northwest. There are different divisions hoopers can take part in, from recreational divisions to playing just for fun to more competitive divisions.
Where and when can I check my team in?
Teams can start checking in on Thursday, June 23, from 3-8 p.m. at Central Plaza just west of the US Pavilion inside Riverfront Park.
You can also register on Friday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Out-of-town teams can check in on the morning of Hoopfest, June 25, from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
How can I get to Hoopfest?
Spokane Transit Authority will offer Hoop Loop shuttles for people who want to park near the event. Parking will be available at the WSU/EWU Spokane lots and the Jefferson lot located under the I-90 bridge.
The STA Plaza will also be closed, so instead Howard Street from Second through Fourth Avenue will serve as the temporary Plaza.
Washington State Patrol will have more troopers at Hoopfest to ensure travel safety and assist with DUI processing and booking.

What are the rules for Hoopfest?
Rules are a bit different for Hoopfest than other tournaments. Each team is guaranteed to play at least three games. Each game is 25 minutes with a target score of 20 points. This means that the team that scores 20 points first in 25 minutes wins.
Teams with children from 2nd to 6th-grade play 20-minute games.
Boys in 2nd to 6th grade and girls grades 2-12 and adult females will play with a 28.5-inch ball, an intermediate-sized basketball. Boys grades 7-12 and adult males will play with a 29.5” ball, a standard-sized basketball.
How can I participate in Hoopfest if I don’t want to play?
Hoopfest is still asking for volunteers for the event. You can be a court monitor and receive a package of Nike gear, which includes shoes! You don’t need any experience.
There are also plenty of fun events, food and merchandise sales going on throughout the downtown area!

Where can I grab a bite to eat?
Food trucks and vendors are throughout Riverfront Park and many restaurants in downtown Spokane, including O’Doherty’s Irish Grille, will have their doors open with special offers for their customers.

Hoopfest volunteers will shut down streets downtown to put out hoops and tape off courts.
