Eugene to ticket downtown skateboarders
EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police say they’ve handed out enough warnings to bicyclists and skateboarders for riding on downtown sidewalks.
Police told The Register-Guard they’re ready to start handing out $50 fines.
The city has spent about $1,000 for 100 signs designating the downtown walk zone.
With the sidewalks off-limits, bicyclists can still ride in the streets. But, skateboards are illegal on Eugene streets, except when crossing.
