Elected Boise County, Payette County prosecutors resign

Two prosecutors who were elected to positions in Boise and Payette County have already resigned from their posts.

The Idaho Statesman reports that Boise County Prosecutor Ross Pittman, who ran unopposed in Tuesday’s election, has resigned as has Payette County Prosecutor Anne-Marie Kelso.

Kelso says Pittman was appointed to her office on Monday.

Boise County Commissioner Alan Ward says the Republican Central Committee was notified Thursday of Pittman’s departure. The committee has 15 days to recommend three candidates to commissioners for the position.

Kelso won her fourth election on Tuesday, but she had already decided to take a position with Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. Thursday is her last day in the prosecutor’s office. She says she decided to take the position too late to be removed from the ballot.
