An earthquake was reported off Australia's west coast on July 14, 2019.

An earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 6.6 struck off the west coast of Australia Sunday, reports the news service AFP.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, but buildings shook in the beach resort town of Broome, about 126 miles from the quake’s center in the Indian Ocean.

No tsunami alert was issued.

AFP reports Australian media sources who say the tremor was felt as far away as Perth and Darwin, and quotes a police officer in Broome who says the shaking lasted for more than a minute.
