Eagles Can’t Finish Comeback In 59-57 Loss To Montana

CHENEY (AP) — Montana finally won a close game, holding off Eastern Washington 59-57 in a Big Sky contest Sunday afternoon in Cheney.

Jordan Hasquet scored four of his team-high 15 points in the final minute; and Ryan Staudacher added 14 points and Ceylon Elgin-Taylor 12 for the Grizzlies.

Kellen Williams scored 21 points and Brandon Moore had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles, who’ve now lost four straight and eight of their last 10.

In a game that featured 12 lead changes and seven ties, it looked like Montana might blow Eastern Washington away early, racing to a 20-12 lead on Kyle Sharp’s jumper with 11 minutes remaining.

But the Eagles battled back, taking their first lead, 26-24, on Moore’s inside move with 1:45 left in the first half.
