Washington state teacher settles discrimination suit

A 37-year-old eastern Idaho man who injured his 3-month-old daughter by slamming her on a bed has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The Idaho State Journal reports in a story on Thursday that Kory Robert Prescott of Pocatello must serve three years before becoming eligible for parole.

Prescott in January pleaded guilty to one count of felony injury to a child.

The girl was flown from Pocatello to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City in April for treatment for a head injury and internal bleeding.

The girl’s mother says her daughter is not expected to have any long-term effects from the injuries.
