Drug Overdose Blamed For Death Of Spokane College Student In Bellingham
BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — An overdose of addictive drugs has been blamed for the death of a student at Western Washington University.
Whatcom County Medical Examiner Dr. Gary Goldfogel released the findings Thursday on the death of 22-year-old Nicholas L. DeLauder of Spokane.
DeLauder was found unconsciousness by another student in his dorm room on Nov. 11. Goldfogel says toxicology tests showed the industrial technology major died of an overdose of heroin, cocaine and oxycodone.
The medical examiner has ruled the death an accident, finding no indication that DeLauder was suicidal. At a memorial service in November, friends said he had been working on a project to install cameras that would help airplane pilots navigate a difficult pass in Alaska.
