Driver Of Stolen SUV Leads Police On Wild Chase

SPOKANE – A hot pursuit involving a stolen Chevy Tahoe came to a violent end when the SUV plowed through one garage, hit another one and hit a telephone pole.

Spokane Police report a black Chevy Tahoe was stolen from near 8th and Chandler. Officers caught up with the driver, who then led them on a high-speed chase through downtown.

The driver turned into an alley on West Shannon where he ran into a telephone pole, drove through a garage and then hit another one before coming to a stop.

Initial reports indicated that including all of the damage done to the garages the SUV knocked out power to five homes near 508 W. Shannon where the chase ended.

The driver, who has been taken into custody, has not been identified by police.
