Detectives identify new suspect in Dec. 30 murder

Spokane Police have identified a new suspect in a deadly North Central Spokane shooting on Dec. 30 after police confirmed witnessed had deliberately lied to them about the suspect.

Originally police had put out a call to find Salvador Rivera-Romero, based on statements from witnesses. However, they have since determined witnesses lied to police, intentionally throwing detectives off the real suspect.

Detectives have since determined the real suspect in the killing of Aaron Cummings on Dec. 30 is Louis Hanson, 29, who is now wanted for second degree murder.

Hanson, who has an extensive criminal history and ties to local gangs, shot and killed Cummings inside a home on N. Wall on Dec. 30.

Rivera-Romero was never located by officers.

Anyone with any information about Hanson’s whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
