SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Detectives discovered a “chop shop” at a Spokane Valley home while serving an auto theft search warrant on Wednesday, Washington State Patrol officials said in a release.

Spokane Regional Auto Theft Task Force detectives found stolen vehicle parts and major component parts from a stolen vehicle while executing the search warrant. According to the release, the parts were from a 2007 Ford F250 that was reported missing from the Spokane Valley Miller Paint Company.

The pickup had been reported stolen in February and was later turned over to the task force. Investigators later discovered the paint company’s stolen fuel card assigned to the vehicle was fradulently used over the course of several days in February.

Investigators arrested 37-year-old Valeriy Aleshkin. He was booked into the Spokane County Jail for taking a motor vehicle without permission in the first degree.
