SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man missing from Spokane Valley has been found safe, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shawn L. Mitchell, 51, walked away from his residential care home on Friday morning.

An employee of the home told deputies Mitchell left around 9:45 a.m. and never returned. They said he was new to the home and does not know the area.

Mitchell has difficulties with his memory due to a traumatic brain injury. Deputies said this increases the possibility he might get lost or disoriented and will be unable to find his way home.
