Denny Hamlin wins Daytona 500 in OT
Denny Hamlin won a crash-filled Daytona 500 in overtime on Sunday.
It was his second victory in the race in four years, according The Associated Press.
Kyle Busch came in second.
There were five crashes and two red flags over 20 laps during regulation in the race.
Hamlin and Busch drive for Joe Gibbs Racing. Gibbs’ oldest son died a month ago from a degenerative neurological disease, the AP said. J.D. Gibbs was 49.
“What happened here is really unreal,” Joe Gibbs said.
Erik Jones, Joey Logano and Michael McDowell took the third, fourth and fifth spots.
