Dennis Rodman Jr commits to Washington State University

The Washington State Cougars added DJ Rodman to their 2019 Basketball recruiting class on Friday.

DJ Rodman is the son of NBA Hall of Fame power forward Dennis Rodman, but his play style differs vastly.

DJ Rodman is 6’6″ and plays small forward. Instead of an aggressive defensive threat like his father, he is an all-around, balanced player, and has an accurate three-point shot.

In his senior year at JSerra Catholic in southern California, Rodman averaged 24.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. Rodman is not rated by 247 Sports, and MaxPreps ranked him the 86th best basketball prospect in California.

Rodman is the 6th player to commit to WSU this off season. They previously recruited three-star athletes Noah Williams, Daron Henson, and Nigel John. On Wednesday they added 7’2″ center Volodymyr Markovetskyy from Ukraine. They also recieve power forward Deion James, a transfer from Colorado State University who is immediately eligible.

With these additions 247 Sports ranks WSU’s recruiting class 81st in the nation, improving from last year’s ranking of 153rd.
