Crash kills 2 fleeing Border Patrol in California
Two people died in a high-speed chase with Border Patrol agents near the Otay Mesa Port of Entry Tuesday night.
Officials said a man and a woman were seen crossing the border illegally on foot. They entered a getaway car, and when authorities tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver didn’t stop.
At one point, the driver was going 100 miles per hour and crashed into a truck, tearing the top of the vehicle off. The driver and one passenger, both men, died. The woman was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
