CHATTAROY, Wash. — Detectives with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office say a Chattaroy woman raped a young child and filmed the assault on her phone.
According to court documents filed Tuesday, Audree L. Pederson also shared the video over text message.
The 24-year-old mother is a former employee of Northern Quest. Pederson’s supervisor called Kalispel Tribal Police last Friday and said he woke up to a text message from Pederson and opened a video which showed her raping a 2-year-old boy, according to court documents.
Detectives with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office joined the investigation and learned Pederson was living with family at a home in Chattaroy.
She was brought in for questioning and admitted to raping the child and filming the assault, according to the documents. Pederson claimed her ex-boyfriend asked her to make the video and threatened to release nude videos of her if she refused, however, there is no evidence of that claim in the search warrant.
While looking through Pederson’s phone, detectives found a text message which appears to be from her ex-boyfriend, it said “Can you send me a video? Are you in jail?”
4 News Now did a search on Pederson’s background and found no prior criminal history. She was booked into jail Feb. 7 on five charges including Child Rape and Exploitation of a Minor.
Detectives did not specify whether Pederson sent the video to her former supervisor on purpose. According to the search warrant, the child is in CPS custody.
