Cougars reflect on an “up and down” season

The Washington State Cougars had opportunities to beat Air Force in the Cheez It Bowl Friday night, but they didn’t capitalize on enough red zone chances, and gave up a ton of yards on the ground.  The loss to the Falcons, felt a lot like the entire season for the Cougs.

After the game Mike Leach summed up this season as up and down.  He also said he thought the Cougs had a chance to be much better than the record turned into.

Cougs end the 2019 season with a 31-21 loss in the Cheez It Bowl

With the loss the Cougars failed to win back-to-back bowl games which would have been a first for the program.  At 6-7, they also finish the season with a losing record for the first time since 2014.
