Two cans of beans help authorities capture a suspect in Florida.

A Florida police officer helped fellow cops take down a suspect in a grocery store by throwing a can of beans at him.

Bay County Sheriff’s Majoy Jimmy Stanford can be seen in a surveillance video throwing the canned food at the suspect as the suspect was wielding a hammer. Stanford’s action distracted the suspect long enough for other officers to apprehend him.

Justin Stanford, 25, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and assault. Due to injuries Stanford sustained in a car accident before the grocery store incident, he was taken to the hospital after his arrest. While there, he tried to steal a gun from the deputy guarding him, leading to an added charge of resisting arrest with violence.
