Contamination Is Found In More Chinese Dairy Products

BEIJING — Chinese investigators have found more dairy products laced with a toxic chemical. State-run television reports that a nationwide inspection of companies that produce a baby formula powder has found that 22 had traces of melamine in their products.

One of the companies exported its products to Bangladesh, Yemen and Burma.

A Hong Kong supermarket chain is removing ice cream and other dairy products from one Chinese company after the chemical was found in a test sample.

The tainted milk powder is being blamed for the deaths of two infants. More than 1,200 other children have been made sick.
