SWAT team arrests domestic violence suspect in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The SWAT team and local authorities arrested a wanted domestic violence suspect in Spokane Valley on Tuesday.

At around 9:20 a.m., Spokane Valley Deputies responded to a report of a Domestic Violence Order of Protection Violation at an apartment on E. Sprague Avenue and S. Conklin Road.

The caller stated that 40-year-old Shawn J. Nason, a 7-time convicted felon in Washington, was violating a DVOPV.

Deputies learned Nason had two confirmed warrants for burglary and fourth-degree assault.

When deputies arrived, the people inside the apartment did not respond. Because of knowledge that Nason has been armed in the past, the SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiators were requested.

At around 2:10 pm, SWAT Team members breached the apartment, and Nason was taken into custody. A woman who was also inside the apartment, later identified as 38-year-old Michelle L. Reynolds, was detained.

Nason will be booked into the Spokane County Jail for his warrants and obstructing. Reynolds was booked for second-degree rendering criminal assistance.
