Community To Weigh In On New Spokane Water Park
SPOKANE — A new water park, still in the design phase, has outdoor enthusiasts across the Inland Northwest excited and city officials asking for input.
Thursday night community members are invited to a Spokane Whitewater Park meeting at the West Central Community Center on North Belt Street. The meeting runs from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The Whitewater Park, called “The Gorge” by planning officials, will be located in the Spokane River Gorge, just downstream of the Sandifur Memorial Bridge.
The park is part of the Great Spokane River Gorge Strategic Mast Plan, published in 2005 to fulfill a vision first articulated by the Olmstead Brothers in 1907.
