Community members invited to SPS Board of Directors and Spokane City Council meeting

Community members are invited to a special meeting of the Spokane Public Schools Board of Directors and the Spokane City Council Wednesday, August 1 at 7 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.

The purpose of the meeting is to review, discuss and consider adoption of bond resolutions related to city and school district facility improvement projects proposed for a November election.

Public comment regarding the partnership propositions will be taken during a public hearing at the meeting before discussion and action by the City Council and School Board.

The City Council will also hold a public hearing on a separate bond proposal for the November ballot that would include City participation in a sports stadium in a central location on the North Bank, new playfields at the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex, and other recreational investments.
