Coeur D’Alene Standoff Ends Peacefully
COEUR D’ALENE — A standoff between Coeur d’Alene Police and an armed man ended peacefully Monday afternoon.
The man, identified as Colby Vodder, was arrested and released last week on a drug charge. When officers went to arrest him Monday at his home he grabbed a gun and fled the home. Authorities followed him to 15th and when he stopped in the middle of the street police blocked off 15th between Nettleson and Best.
Some residents in the area were told to stay in their homes while others were asked to leave the neighborhood.
One person near the scene says the man was standing in the middle of the street but the witness could not see what kind of weapon the man was armed with.
Vodder surrendered to police shortly before 4 p.m. and in addition his drug charge is now facing a second charge of Exhibition of a Firearm. He’s been booked into the Kootenai County Jail.
