Coeur d’Alene Police: Man arrested for aggravated assault in possible road rage incident

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A 55-year-old man was arrested by the Coeur d’Alene Police Department for aggravated assault Friday afternoon.
According to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, David Lariccia was involved in an incident earlier in the morning near W Ironwood Dr. and N Government Way. Police said Lariccia is accused of pulling a firearm and a knife on a man in the area.
Officers are not sure what led up to the altercation, but said it may have been a road rage incident.
Officers were able to identify Lariccia as a suspect by scanning his license plate and locating him at his home near Kathleen and Honeysuckle. They surrounded the house and brought the SWAT team in as an extra resource.
While waiting for a search warrant, officers received an arrest warrant and were able to take Lariccia into custody when he went outside to smoke a cigarette.
Lariccia was the lone suspect in the situation and was taken into custody without incident.
Police said there is no threat to the public.
