Coeur d’Alene Police bring lots of toys, smiles to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — On Sunday, there will be plenty of gifts to rip open at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, courtesy of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.
Staff at Sacred Heart say not only does this act mean a lot for the kids, but also for their parents getting to see their child’s face light up.
“Most often they don’t have the money or the means to buy the gift for their children because they have been in the hospital,” said Katie Lowderback, nurse manager at Sacred Heart. “It’s filled with a lot of tears and happy smiles, and it really fills your heart.”
Officers delivered hundreds of toys collected over the past few weeks as a part of their annual toy drive.
Coeur d’Alene Police also gifted lots of toys to Kootenai Health on Monday.
