Coeur d’Alene IRONMAN road closures and delays

COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho — Motorists should expect road closure this Sunday due to the upcoming IRONMAN triathlon, causing delays.
Traffic will be delayed from Northwest Boulevard south to Missile Base Road. The highway will remain open, but there will be flagger controlled intersections.
Northbound traffic on U.S. 95 will be diverted to the southbound lanes, creating two way traffic in the southbound lane between milepost 408 and 429. This is where the bike course will take place.
Major intersecting roads to U.S. 95 will all be flagger controlled crossings. This will likely cause delays. Speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph during race hours and parking on the shoulder will be prohibited. Wide load restrictions will be in place between these mileposts as well.
During the bike portion of the event, Sherman to Higgins Point boat launch traffic will be impacted. Peak hours are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be traffic delays with limited access due to cyclists being in both northbound and southbound lanes.
The run course road closures will last from 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. This includes:
Lakeshore Drive, 11th to 15th Street
15th Street, E. Lakeshore to Ash Street
Ash Street, 15th Street to 14th Street
14th Street, Ash Street to Lost Avenue
Lost Avenue, 14th Street to 17th Street
