Coeur d’Alene Fire, local partners team up to administer vaccines to homebound N. Idahoans

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A new program will help homebound people in North Idaho get a COVID-19 vaccine.

The program is made possible through a partnership between the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, the Area Agency on Aging of North Idaho and the Panhandle Health District.

Services begin Wednesday and will continue for three weeks; there will be an ongoing assessment of need after the first few weeks.

The program is available to any homebound citizien within the area the Panhandle Health District serves, as well as their direct care providers.

Those looking to get a vaccine will be visited by an EMT from the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, along with a volunteer from the Area Agency on Aging. They will drive to the home of the individual and administer the vaccine on-site, at no cost.

Those looking to get a vaccine through the program can call 208-667-3179.
