City crews working to prepare roads for another night of snowfall

Snow plows hit Spokane streets

SPOKANE, Wash. — A portion of 16th and Freya was backed up on Thursday as cars slid on the roadway.

The road has since reopened, but drivers should use caution when traveling through the area.

In the meantime, city crews are busy preparing the roads for a night of heavy snowfall.

The City of Spokane Valley says crews have been out since early evening, plowing hillsides and applying de-icer to major roads.

If you do venture out in the evening, remember to slow down and stay a safe distance behind other cars.
