City Council pushes mosquito alarm vote to March
This is the second time the vote has been delayed.
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane City Council announced Monday that the vote on banning mosquito alarms has been deferred to March 16.
The ordinance, sponsored by council member Kate Burke, would prevent local business owners from using high-pitched alarms to deter loiterers. She claims the alarms unfairly discourage children and young adults from being downtown.
Previously, the City Council deferred the vote to February back during a meeting on December 17.
Burke originally proposed the bill in November.
