Chiefs Ready For Title Defense

SPOKANE — The Spokane Chiefs starts another season, and defense of the Memorial Cup Thursday, September 18.

The Chiefs will open the season on the road with the first two games away from the Spokane Arena. It was a short summer for the Chiefs, and even so, it’s great to be back. This team can’t wait to take the ice on Thursday night.

“I’m excited, and I think the guys will be real ready come Thursday,” head coach Hardy Sauter said. “A couple things to work on this week, but I think we’ll be chomping at the bit when the season rolls around.”

“It’s been a while since the Mem Cup final, now that we’ve had a game that’s really, you know, for everything I guess, we can’t wait to get out on the ice and get started,” defenseman Trevor Glass said.

Game one on Thursday is in Cranbrook, when the Chiefs and the Ice kick off another season.
