Chiefs Optimistic After Red-White Game

SPOKANE — The Spokane Chiefs wrapped up training camp on Sunday afternoon with the annual Red-White game.

The White team won the game 3-1, but even more important, new coach Hardy Sauter got a good look at all the players, both returners and new comers.  Even though it was just a four day camp, it was a nice base to build from.

“I think we made a lot of progress,” Chiefs center Tyler Johnson said. “Players are playing our style of play, I mean we’re playing our 1-2-2. Everyone’s just working hard out there playing Chiefs hockey, so I mean everyone can make our team that was playing today, so that’s great.”

The chiefs start the pre-season this weekend in Everett as they take on the Silvertips Friday at 7:00 p.m.
