Cheney Zips employee called police after recognizing car in AMBER Alert

A 10-year-old child missing out of Nampa, Idaho was found safe Wednesday afternoon in Cheney.
Around 3:24 p.m., the Cheney Police Department received information from a Zips employee who reported they observed a vehicle that matched the description of one that was listed as a vehicle from an AMBER Alert from Nampa, Idaho. The employee provided detailed information concerning the occupants of the vehicle and the license number that matched the information provided in the alert.
Officers from the Cheney Police Department located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The female driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Brooke Helmandollar , was given the assistance she needed and her 10-year-old child, Alissa Helmandollar , was taken into protective custody pending her return to her home in Nampa, Idaho.
ISP initially issued the alert after receiving information that Brooke could have been dangerous following alleged threatening behavior toward Alissa.
Authorities have not announced if they will be pressing charges against Brooke.
