Cheetah jumps into Jeep with tourist

A group of tourists survived a very close encounter with a cheetah during a safari in Tanzania, Africa.
Three cheetah brothers encountered the tourists, WPVI reported. Peter Heistein shared videos of the intimate interaction.
One video shows a cheetah on the hood of a Jeep.
Another shows a cheetah exploring the backseat of a Jeep right over a man’s shoulder.
The guide told the tourists to stay still and avoid eye contact so the cheetah wouldn’t feel threatened, WPVI reported.
Britton Hayes told KOMO that by the time the cheetahs arrived, it was too late to drive away.
“You don’t want to startle the animals, because that’s when things usually go wrong,” he told KOMO. “While we were all watching the cheetah in the front, one of the brothers had flanked around the back and hopped in back of the vehicle to try and sniff us and make sure that we weren’t a threat.”
Hayes told KOMO he tried to remain as calm as possible to avoid a “bad outcome.”
“The sheer tension of sitting in a vehicle thinking, ‘I’m going to die,’ and then living. We just, everyone in the car just looked at each other, we paused for 10 seconds as the cheetahs walked away and we couldn’t believe that we got out of the situation, that it was real,” Hayes told KOMO. “I was scared to death, but I’ve never felt more alive.”
