Charge dropped against woman who fatally shot boyfriend
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — A homicide charge against a Klamath Falls woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend has been dismissed.
The Herald and News reports 60-year-old Kim Johnson Noud was charged with homicide Monday in connection with the shooting death of 42-year-old Kenneth Halston Wilkinson. The charge was dropped Thursday at the request of prosecutors, who said new evidence found following an autopsy needed further investigation.
Wilkinson was shot Saturday at the couple’s residence. Noud told police Wilkinson accidentally shot himself in the chest while playing with a handgun.
Court documents say investigators determined Wilkinson was shot through the back.
District Attorney Rob Patridge would not say what new evidence was found by the medical examiner. He did say the charge against Noud could be brought back if necessary.
