Central Valley School District names new superintendent

SPOKANE, VALLEY, Wash.– The Central Valley School District has a new leader.

On Saturday, CVSD announced Dr. John Parker will be its new superintendent.

The School Board voted unanimously to select him out of four candidates after an extensive week-long process to gather feedback from students, families, staff, and community members.

“I would like to thank you for the vote in confidence. I am honored to be the next superintendent for Central Valley,” Parker said in a press release. “I am really excited to hit the ground running to serve kids in the best way possible. I look forward to partner with the Central Valley School Board and each of the students, staff, teachers, parents and community stakeholders—locking arms and moving forward collectively.”

Right now, Parker is the Director of Innovation for Colegio Nueva Granada International School in Bogota, Columbia. Before that, he was the Chief Academic Officer and area superintendent for Puyallup School District.

Parker is set to start as the new CVSD superintendent on July 1, 2022.
