Casino burglar sentenced to two years
The 28-year-old man who was found guilty by an Asotin County jury of burglarizing Lancer Lanes and Casino last May was sentenced today to a total of 24 months in prison.
Troy Wilcoxon was found guilty on all counts – 1st-degree theft, 2nd-degree burglary, and 2nd-degree conspiracy to commit burglary – for the May 23rd burglary during which nearly $30,000 was taken.
Judge William D. Acey also banned Wilcoxon from any casinos or other facilities that are licensed by the Washington State Gambling Commission for 10 years, and he will also have to pay restitution, fines, and fees of approximately $31,000, according to Asotin County Deputy Prosecutor Curt Liedkie.
In handing down the sentence, Liedkie says Judge Acey told Wilcoxon that he is tired of people stealing from their employers.
There was a hung jury for the second defendant in the case, 33-year-old James Nollette. The final jury vote was 9 to 3 to convict for Nollette. His next court appearance was set for January 27th.
