Capitol Hill Threat Level Raised Because Of Airspace Issue

CAPITOL HILL (AP) — Authorities have returned the threat level at the U.S. Capitol to low after a brief incident involving an aircraft.

The threat level was briefly raised from yellow to orange after an aircraft flew too close to the restricted airspace around federal Washington. Personnel in the U.S. Capitol had been ordered to prepare to evacuate and tourists were turned away for a time.

But police and other officials say the threat level was soon returned to yellow, meaning elevated, and later reduced to green, or low threat.
