Buy a sandwich for a good cause

Wednesday is the Day of Giving at all Spokane Jersey Mike’s.

This year, that means every penny you spend at the the sub shop, will be donated to the Andrew Rypien School Program.

They help to make sure kids who have to spend months, or even years, at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, don’t fall behind in school.

“So we exist to provide bedside and classroom-based tutoring to kids while they’re here,” said Maggie Rowe, Program Coordinator and Hospital-School Liaison to the Andrew Rypien School Program. “Because that creates a whole new stress if they’re getting weeks and weeks behind from being in the hospital.”

“One of Jersey Mike’s mottos is ‘Give to Give,'” said Nikki Roberts, General Manager at Jersey Mike’s in Northtown. “So it’s part of the company, and who we are, just giving back to the community and helping out.”

Last year’s Day of Giving raised over $10,000. And this year, you can be a part of it. Just visit any Spokane Jersey Mike’s from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m Wednesday.
