Brush fire burning in Newman Lake
NEWMAN LAKE, Wash. — UPDATE: There are no evacuation notices in place right now for the Newman Lake area fire, which is burning near an old forest service airstrip. As of Monday night, the fire was 10 acres in size, and was 100 percent lined.

A brush fire is burning in the 15300 block of N. Muzzy Road in Newman Lake.
DNR is sending four planes and multiple engines to the fire. Two helicopters have also been dispatched to the fire.
According to Spokane Fire District 8, the fire is burning 5 acres with 100 foot flame lengths.
