BP agents seize $500,000 worth of drugs from aircraft

TUCSON, Ariz. – Border Patrol agents seized nearly $500,000 worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl when it encountered a modified ultralight aircraft this week.
Air and Marine Operations surveillance equipment picked up the aircraft at around 11 p.m. Thursday night, according to a news release, and agents found it abandoned south of Tucson on a dirt road with two plastic storage bags in the fuselage.
Testing later confirmed 143 pounds of meth and 200 grams of fentanyl, according to the news release. The pilot was not found.
