Boy dies in shooting outside Denver

A boy was killed and two adults and another child were shot in a parking lot behind a Westminster, Colorado dentist’s office on Thursday, according to several news organizations.

The shooting happened about 3 p.m., according to the Denver Post. The suspect was at large for nearly three hours before he was apprehended without incident. CBS reports.

In addition to the child who died, one victim is expected to survive but a woman and a child were in critical condition with life-threatening wounds. Police did not identify the suspect or victims but said there was no relation between the gunman and the victims.

The area is about 14 miles northwest of Denver. It is the third shooting in 24 hours in the metro Denver area.

Earlier Thursday, Adams County deputies shot and killed a woman and wounded another woman in a car.

On Wednesday, an officer sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and a suspect was killed when two bicycle patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery at a 7-Eleven.
