Bomb squad called to Grant County scene

MOSES LAKE, Wash — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious device discovered during a traffic stop near the REC Silicon plant in Moses Lake.
Investigators say REC Silicon employees were notified and most left the plant at 3:30 after their shift.
A Grant County Deputy discovered what appeared to be an explosive device in the back of a car during a traffic stop. The male driver was detained for questioning and later arrested. The exact charges are unknown.
The Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad was called in to evaluate the device. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says no employees at REC are safe and far enough away from the scene.
This is a developing story.
