Boise woman charged with abandoning infant son
A 29-year-old Boise woman is charged with leaving her infant son at the home of an acquaintance and refusing to return to pick him up.
Sara D. Ball is jailed on a felony charge of desertion of nonsupport of a child.
Police were called on Dec. 2 by someone who reported that Ball and her son had planned to stay the night at their residence, but when the person woke up, the boy was alone in the room and Ball was gone.
Police say the resident contacted Ball several times, but she refused to pick up the baby or provide any support. Police declared the baby to be in imminent danger and the child was placed in state custody.
Ball turned herself in to her parole officer on Monday.
