Boil order in place for Millwood residents, E.Coli detected in water

MILLWOOD, Wash. — People living in Millwood should boil their water before drinking it.

E.Coli bacteria were detected in the water supply on Thursday. These bacteria can make people sick and are a particular concern for people with compromised immune systems.

People should bring all water to a rolling boil for a full minute before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.

A release from the City of Millwood said the contamination is believed to be the result of improper sprinkler system blowouts.

The boil order is in place until further notice.
