Body Of Arson Suspect Found In North Idaho

SPOKANE — The body of a Moscow man wanted in connection with a suspicious fire that killed his mother last July has been found in Shoshone County.

The Latah County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday afternoon the body of Dallas Dale Strunk, 56, hyad been found by hunters in the Freeze Out area in Shoshone County. Deputies in Shoshone County went to the scene where the body was found and identified Strunk through personal items found on him.

On July 8th, fire struck his parents’ home at 1041 Quartz Creek Road in Harvard. Dallas’  mother, 88-year-old Linda Strunk, was gravely wounded in the fire and died the next day at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Dallas Strunk was considered a person of interest in the fire and had a criminal record that included a 2005 arrest for second-degree arson.

The investigation into the fatal house fire is continuing in Latah County while Strunk’s death is under investigation in Shoshone County.
