Blue Jays-Royals game postponed due to hole in roof
A hole in the Rogers Centre’s retractable roof has led to the postponement of the Toronto Blue Jays’ Monday night game against the Kansas City Royals.
The team tweeted earlier Monday that it was working to repair the hole, which was caused by a piece of ice falling from the neighboring CN Tower.
In an earlier tweet, the team said it was assessing the conditions around Rogers Centre and the “viability of playing” the game, which had been scheduled to start at 7:07 p.m. ET.
Instead, the game will be made up Tuesday as part of a traditional doubleheader beginning at 3:07 p.m. ET.

Various photos on Twitter have shown the hole and tarps in the outfield as water was leaking through the opening.

Monday’s delayed game marks the third straight Blue Jays game affected by weather. The team also had its road games against the Cleveland Indians postponed on Saturday and Sunday due to inclement weather.
Sunday’s postponement was one of six games postponed across Major League Baseball. Monday’s games between the Orioles-Red Sox and Cardinals-Cubs were also postponed, bringing MLB’s season total to 24 so far.
