SPOKANE. Wash. — Students at Balboa Elementary School donated toiletries to support Union Gospel Mission.

Spokane Public Schools said the idea for the drive came from third grader Elli Smith, and it resulted in nearly 6,000 items being donated.

“The @ugmspokanecda have guardian angels in the form of Balboa Bulldogs,” SPS said on their Twitter page.
